Paintings, by Mahmoud Elmardi
As a Sudanese visual artist and novelist, my creative practice thrives at the intersection of narrative structure and abstract expressionism. I believe that a canvas holds the same weight as a novel; there is no distinction between my brush and my pen, as both serve to delve into the depths of the human psyche. My work—rooted in the symbolic heritage of Sudan—seeks to translate complex emotions and human stories into a universal visual language, creating a synergy between word and image.
